WECOLOUR Bleach and Highlight set provides a beautiful, fast-lightening effect without a yellow hue. The bleaching cream is suitable for any hair colour. You can lighten your hair up to six colour shades. On grey hair, the Bleach and Highlight set has no effect. Want to know what is possible with the WECOLOUR Bleach and Highlight set? Then take a look at our Pinterest board, where we have collected several images.
With your set you will receive two bottles of 6% (20 vol.) hydrogen peroxide (activator) as standard. A sachet of shampoo and conditioner is also included. If you are not using the whole package of the Bleach and Highlight set at once, you can store it for another 12 months after opening. You also have the option to choose 9% (30 vol.) activator with your order. This has a stronger and more brightening effect but is more stressful for your hair. With 6%, you can generally expect a lightening of three to four colour shades, with 9% it is up to six colour shades. So if you have naturally black hair (colour shade 1), you can lighten up to light brown hair (colour shade 6). Do you want to lighten your colour as much as possible or is your hair dyed? Then it is better to opt for 9% activator. Dyed hair contains more pigment and is therefore more difficult to lighten up.
Bleaching causes bleaching stains on textiles. Protect your clothes with the WECOLOUR hair dye cape or an old towel. After the treatment, use an old towel to dry your hair. Going for highlights? Then keep in mind that you will need a padding board or cap to make highlights.
Have you used our shampoo and conditioner after treatment and you find the colour bright enough? Then use a toning product such as WECOLOUR No-yellow Mousse, for example. If this does not work sufficiently, you can do a toning colour treatment. You can read all about it at wecolour.com/toners.
Advice on application time
The result always depends on the application time and the colour and texture of your own hair. The product works quickly, especially on fine, porous and curly hair. Therefore, it is important to work quickly or rinse your hair in sections earlier. Do not use heat or heat devices on your hair while processing. Do not exceed the 45-minute application time. Work accurately and keep a close eye on the time.
Because although this product is formulated with the utmost care for your hair, scalp and health and is as gentle as possible, bleaching is always stressful for your hair. The shorter it is in your hair, the better. Therefore, always check whether the desired colour has already been achieved. We advise you to mix Colour Mask directly with the bleach. Avoid contact with skin and scalp as much as possible; do not apply the product directly to the scalp.
Check the condition of your hair
Highlighting or bleaching your hair, no matter how mild the product, is stressful either way. You can therefore only bleach or highlight your hair if the quality of your hair is good. Is your hair in bad condition or very fine, porous, frizzy or very dry? Then do not bleach or highlight, as this can result in breakage. First, before highlighting or bleaching, make sure your hair is stronger. You do this by taking very good care of your hair. You can read more about this in these blogs: dyeing bleached hair darker, what to look out for and the difference between dyeing and bleaching.
Sometimes you need a toner after using blonde to neutralise unwanted shades in your hair.
How many Bleach and Highlight sets do you need?
For highlights, this depends on your hair length, the thickness of your hair, how many highlights you are going to set and the thickness of these highlights. For face framing, for example, a quarter tube of bleaching cream and half a bottle of activator can be enough.
When bleaching, the following applies (for guidance):
- Short, thin hair or only outgrowth: half a tube of bleaching cream mixed with a bottle of activator)
- Hair up to just over shoulder length: one package (whole tube of bleaching cream mixed with the two bottles of activator)
- Thick or longer hair (up to halfway down your back): two packs
- Very thick and very long hair: three packs.
Make sure you have enough Bleach and Highlight sets at home. Nothing is more annoying than finding out while highlighting or bleaching that you are short. The bleaching cream and activator (unmixed) have a shelf life of 12 months after opening and even several years if they are unopened.
