Did your new hair colour not take very well?
If you left the hair dye in as recommended and used enough hair dye, most likely this is one of the reasons:
- You might have used a colour that was too light for your hair. You can't lighten already dyed hair. See what colours can work for you in our Colour advice tool.
- Maybe you've already coloured your hair recently? It could be that the hair dye you were using has put a layer around your hair that prevents the new dye from adhering well to your hair. This is especially the case when using henna, a reason why other hair dyes don't take. If you dye over henna with regular hair dye (which contains hydrogen peroxide) you should make sure that there is at least 3 weeks in between. And you can only take a shade in the same colour height or darker. Have you recently dyed your hair, want to dye with WECOLOURnow but don't know if the dye will take? Then first take a small strand to see how your hair reacts to it. If the colour turns out as you would like, you can safely dye your hair.
- Did your hair recently undergo a chemical treatment? Then also a layer around your hair might have been the reason that he dye didn't take well.
- Did you dye on grey hair? Grey hair may not absorb the dye as well as it should and the dye may not reach the hair shaft as well.
What to do?
- Pick a haircolour according to your results in our Colour advice tool.
- If you used other dye before colouring with WECOLOUR and there was a minimum of three weeks in between, you will unfortunately have to wait until this other dye is out of your hair, or have it cut out.
- Was there less than three weeks between colouring with henna and then colouring with WECOLOUR? Then try to dye it again with WECOLOUR at least three weeks after. Because if it was coloured with other dyes or henna more than three weeks ago, it could be that WECOLOUR is now working on your hair.
- Are your grey strands probably the reason the dye didn't work? Then try a natural shade of WECOLOUR. This is a colour with a 0 (zero) after the dot in the hair colour number like 5.0. You can also read our blog 'How do you get a good coverage on grey hair?'.
