Just like fashion, hair colour trends are constantly changing. After a period with lots of ash tints in fashion, we already started moving on to warm hair colours. This trend seems to have passed on to 2020. Platinum blonde, copper red, nearly black and raspberry bourbon. These are the 2020 hair colour trends!
Where we saw a lot of ash tints the past couple of years, we're starting to see more neutral and warm blonde colours this year. The trend that probably stands out most in 2020 is the platinum blonde. This colour is feared by many, but trendwatchers say it's totally coming back. Next to platinum blonde, we're also seeing a lot of very light, bright blonde (great on summer types) and warm tints such as honey- and golden blonde (great on spring types). The real ash tints kind of fade to the background. If you have a lot of natural warmth (orange glow) in your hair you should go for an ash tint, because it will cancel out this orange glow with the extra bit of blue pigment they contain. The result will look natural without being too ashy.

Red is very hot this spring! And by that we mean subtle red, not a very bright red. Think of strawberry blonde, made by mixing 1/10 copper red light brown 6.64 with 9/10 very light ash blonde 11.1 (or 9.0/10.01 for a darker look).
Copper is still as popular as it was last year. Is the copper dark blonde 7.4 too dark for you? Mix this with the 10.01 in a ratio of 1:3 for a lighter version of this colour. The light red colours look great on spring types. Are you a fall type? Then dark red hair colours look great on you. Keep in mind red colours fade away faster.

The name nearly gives it away... Our 3.0 dark brown is very dark, but not completely black: nearly black. If you want to go a step further you could mix the 3.0 with the 1.0 black. This trend is especially perfect for winter types. Do you naturally have very light hair? Then this trend might not be for you. You can't dye dark dyed hair any lighter. So if you want something else later on, you'd have to decolourise it first, which is very damaging to your hair. Be careful with this trend if you're not totally sure if it'll look good on you.

What does rapsberry bourbon even mean? The fashion world is always looking for new trends, and new trends need new names. This year: raspberry bourbon. It's a brown to dark blonde colour with a copper and/or red nuance. In the hair salon, they make raspberry bourbon with high and lowlights with different brown, copper and red tints. You can do it yourself by mixing the 8.3 golden blonde with the 7.4 dark blonde or, for a darker version, the 6.4 (more copper) or 6.64 (more red) with the 6.0. This trendy colour looks great on people with warm undertones in their skin. Do you have cool undertones, but still love this colour, you can still get it. Just make sure you keep the base colour neutral with a natural tint such as the 6.0. Then you can apply a copper or red nuance in the lengths of your hair without it looking odd.
