You can choose from as much as five dark blonde hair colour variations. That's because dark blonde is a very common and therefore very popular colour. But with so many options, which colour should you choose? And what are the differences between them? We'll give you tips on how to get your hair to a good-looking dark blonde hair colour that fits you well!
When we talk about dark blonde colours, we at WECOLOUR mean the colours at a colour level of 7. The first number of dark blonde hair colours always starts with a 7. Light brown would be a 6 and blonde is a colour level of 8. All blonde hair colours can be looked up here.
All tints in this colour level 7 are equally dark (or light, of course). Imagine looking at the colours through a black and white filter. Some dark blonde colours may look darker than others on the picture, but really, they're all the same. The colours do depend on the colour of your natural hair.
Moreover, ash tints do look darker than other colours in a certain colour level. The 7.1 ash dark blonde will appear to be darker than the 7.0 dark blonde. If you don't want this, you could consider picking a lighter ash tint. This would be the 8.1 ash blonde.
Before you start liking a specific colour, first take a look at if you can even dye your hair dark blonde at all:
Undyed darker hair
You can dye your hair lighter to a dark blonde colour if it's undyed and if your hair is at a colour level of 5 or 6 (brown).
Do you have really dark brown or black hair? Then I'm afraid dark blonde isn't an option for you. You could however dye it to a nice brown or dark brown colour. Still want dark blonde hair? You'll have to decolourise or bleach it, which we recommend you get done at a hair salon.
Dyed and darker hair
Is your hair currently dyed to a colour that's darker than a colour level of 7? Then you can only dye your hair to a darker colour or with the same colour you currently have. You can't dye dyed hair any lighter, so not to a dark blonde colour either. You can try, but you won't see any results so that would be a waste.

Great news! You can dye your hair dark blonde. Keep in mind that, if you have extremely light hair, your hair is gonna be a lot darker once you dye it. You can't dye dark dyed hair any lighter! To be sure your hair won't be too dark, it could be best to not take any chances and get a lighter colour. Pick a colour that's at a colour level of 8 or 9. You can always dye it darker.
The differences in dark blonde colours aren't about darker or lighter. So what is the difference? The difference is in the second number, the one after the dot. For example, the .1 in the 7.1 shows that it's an ashtint, so a cooler colour. Do warm colours look better on you? Then go for the 7.3 or 7.4.
You could really like a certain colour, but it'll only look good if it's a flattering colour for you - just like with clothing. If a tint doesn't fit with your skin, it just doesn't look good on you. So when you have a cool undertone in your skin and dye your hair to a warm colour, it can make you look pale and dull. But if you have a warm undertone and dye with a warm colour, the warm colour will make you shine! The 7.0 is a neutral colour and will look good on warm as well as cool skin types.

When looking for the perfect dark blonde colour you should pay attention to wether the colour fits the undertone of your skin. Maybe you already know what type you are. Warm dark blonde hair colours look best on spring and autumn types while the cool 7.1 looks best on summer and winter types. Here's all the dark blonde hair colours:
Of course you can mix all dark blonde colours to get a colour that you like and/or that has better coverage.
What do you find most important when dyeing your hair? Probably something like keeping your hair healthy and having good coverage on your (grey) hair. It also has to look natural. This is all possible with the WECOLOUR dark blonde hair dye.
If your hair is less than 50% grey, you can use any WECOLOUR hair dye. If your hair is greyer than that (it's obvious from a distance) it's best to use the natural 7.0 or the golden 7.3. These tints have perfect coverage on grey hair. The golden blonde is a lot warmer than the natural tint. You could also mix the colours. For example, to get a copper colour with optimal grey coverage, mix the copper copper dark blonde 7.4 with the dark blonde 7.0. This weakens the copper tint a little, but the result is a nice copper colour that looks good on your grey hair. You can do the same with the ash dark blonde 7.1. The colour will stay ashy, but you'll have better coverage on your grey hair. An ash dark blonde colour is cool, a little greyer and matter than a golden or natural tint.
Your hair can get a weird colour due to a number of reasons. It will turn bleak with very porous hair. In that case it's best to dye with a warmer tint such as the golden dark blonde or the copper dark blonde. If a colour is rather too warm, showing an orange undertone, you should go for a natural or ash tint to prevent this warm, orange glow. If you're afraid to completely switch to a golden or ash tint, mix it with a natural tint. This will give the colour a more neutral tone.
