Fine hair should be volumised with a volume mousse or spray. You will also get a lot of volume by blow-drying your hair, preferably with a round brush. Dyed hair is also stiffer and therefore easier to volumise. And of course, you have our shampoo and conditioner that both add volume to fine hair and also care for your hair and colour!
Straight, fine and smooth hair also tends to show grease a little faster, as the hair lies flatter on the scalp. Besides using a mild shampoo, dry shampoo is also an ideal product for faster greasy hair. Not only does this dissolve the grease, but it also gives your hair more volume and makes it a bit stiffer. However, it is advisable not to use dry shampoo too often. This can actually make the scalp drier. With smooth hair, conditioner is not the first thing you think of to give fine hair more volume, but it is definitely recommended. It conditions your hair and seals the cuticle. If you only put conditioner in the lengths of the hair and not on the scalp, you will keep the volume and your hair will not get heavy. WECOLOUR's shampoo is ideal for fine hair. It gives volume and there is no sulphate in it, making your hair look fuller. If you have dry and fine hair, you can also use Dark Bamboo as a treatment. This is a white clay shampoo based on black bamboo. Completely natural, so it doesn't foam at all. But it cleanses and conditions your hair very well. It also gives a lot of volume. If you have rather oily hair, use it only in the lengths of your hair and not on your scalp.
Blow-drying your hair is the tip to create volume in fine hair. If you let your hair dry, it will always sit flatter on your scalp. Before blow-drying your hair, always use a strengthener. Choose a product suitable for fine hair. Volume spray or our mousse work really well for fine hair. These are light products that do not weigh hair down. For extra volume, blow-dry your hair with a round hairdryer brush. You have special hairdryers for this, but you can also just use a round brush while blow-drying. Not into round brushes? Then try blow-drying your hair upside down, this may sound crazy but it gives a lot of volume to your hair. WECOLOUR's volume mousse is vegan and contains no sls, parabens and formaldehyde which also protects your hair colour. The mousse is gentle on your hair, does not stick and gives your hair volume.
If you have washed your hair, it is best to towel-dry it first, then add reinforcement, blow dry and then comb. This is because wet hair is more fragile than dry hair. You'll keep more volume if you comb it when it's dry and this way your hair will also appear fuller.
After blow-drying, it can be nice to put another product in your hair to make it stay put. Wax or hairspray can help. If you prefer wax, choose a matt wax (a wax that does not shine). Matte wax is less heavy and does not give your hair a greasy look. Don't really like wax? Then hairspray might be a solution for you. Just choose a light one that won't weigh your hair down. When using hairspray, try not to spray too close, as this will make it especially sticky and therefore heavier.
If you want even more volume, you can slightly backcomb the roots of your hair. Toup with a comb or a boar bristle brush. A comb is firmer, with the brush it becomes more airy. Always be careful when backcombing that you brush the top layers smoothly, so it looks natural. Not in the mood for locks along your face? A cute ponytail or bun is always good. Choose either a ponytail or a loose ponytail, as the bottom of a half put-up hairdo often looks thinner. Also look carefully at the elastic, an elastic with an iron piece is worse for your hair and often leaves a kink in it. Opt for the softest possible elastic or a clip. If you want to give your put-up hair more volume too, you can backcomb your ponytail a little. Then leave it like that or twist it into a bun. The bun will then also look fuller.
If you dye your hair, you will notice that it becomes a bit stiffer and appears fuller. And this makes it easier to get more volume. It also helps to get more depth at the roots of your hair as this visually gives more volume. Colour your hair a blonde shade, then choose 1 shade darker for the roots. This works similarly with a darker shade. Is your hair naturally grey? Then try to choose a colour not too far from your own colour. Hair with grey outgrowth looks a bit thinner.
So far our tips! Hopefully these will help you add volume to your fine hair.
