Especially since most of us long for smooth and shiny hair. Dry hair is damaged hair, and damaged hair is actually impossible to repair, only to camouflage. So it is important to know how to prevent dry and therefore damaged hair.
Since you cannot really repair dry hair, it is important to prevent your hair from becoming dry. The best place to start is at the very foundation of your hair; the building blocks. Everything you ingest in terms of nutrition has a major impact on your hair. It is not without reason that so many things can be demonstrated in hair about a person's origin and diet, for example, etc.
So, building nutrients are very important for your hair to get them as healthy (and beautiful!) as possible. Make sure you get plenty of vitamin A. This is mainly found in dairy, butter, eggs (egg yolk), smoked eel, carrots, green leafy vegetables, tangerines and oranges. Proteins are also needed, which you get through fish, meat, eggs and nuts. Sulphur is found in high doses in mussels, chicken, Brazil nuts, peanuts, sardines, cod, salmon, eggs, almonds and spinach. A final important building nutrient is iron. Iron is found in cocoa, sesame seeds, millet, soy, pumpkin seeds, Brazil nuts, chia seeds, quinoa.

Damage to your hair is caused by wear and tear. The outer layer of your hair becomes thinner and thinner due to various influences. In part, of course, you cannot do anything about this; this is natural wear and tear. The lengths and lower ends of your hair have already endured more and are therefore always more damaged than the hair closer to your scalp, which is therefore new. But you can prevent excessive wear and tear.
Dry hair often has split ends. By cutting your hair regularly, your hair will soon look a lot less dry and healthier. You will also prevent further split ends.
Heat from styling tools damages your hair. Therefore, try to dry or style your hair with heat less often. Warm water from showers or baths is also not good for your hair. If you do not need to wash your hair, use a shower cap or make sure your hair does not get wet. Do you wash your hair? Preferably use lukewarm water and rinse with cold water. Your hair cuticles will then close again nicely, preserving the moisture in your hair better.
Swimming a lot in chlorinated water can dry out your hair. Chlorine removes all the natural oils from your hair, making it porous and brittle. Your hair becomes visibly dry and rough.
Unfortunately, seawater is also not good for your dry hair. The biggest problem with sea salt is that it pulls moisture out of your hair, making it drier and more brittle.
Protect your hair from chlorine and salt by not swimming underwater or wearing a swimming cap. Optionally, you can use a special protective product for your hair such as Argan Silk. Fine, this product also contains a UV filter!
You can also wet your hair with plain tap water before jumping into the pool or entering the sea. Your hair will then be saturated and absorb less chlorine or salt. After swimming, rinse your hair immediately in the shower if it got wet during swimming.
As you know, bleaching agents are damaging to your hair as are aggressive hair dyes containing ammonia. To avoid dry hair, choose hair dye with as few aggressive substances such as ammonia as possible. If you want to bleach your hair, do so with a professional product and follow the instructions carefully.
As an extension of this, of course, you should preferably wash your hair as little as possible so that your hair and scalp are not stripped of its natural sebum and oils every time.
