'Purple hair colour' is how our mahogany brown (5.5) is often called. Alongside our reds, it is the most striking colour in our range. It is a much-loved and popular hair colour at WECOLOUR. And the nice thing is, this hair colour is seen in both young and old. The mahogany brown colour sits at colour level 5 and thus falls under mid-brown colours. This colour, like our other 33 hair colours, is a permanent hair colour that you do not wash out of your hair. It is a natural-looking purple hair colour, unlike all the pastel purple, blue, green and pink colours you often see nowadays.
The mahogany brown 'purple' hair dye is grey-covering. If you don't need a whole tube to dye your hair or touch up your outgrowth, you can use it several times and the argan oil and calendula ensure that the quality of your hair stays excellent.
Purple hair colour looks gorgeous if your face colour is cool! This is usually the case if you are a (mixed) winter type and your face colour is mid-brown. A summer type is of course also a cool type, but for that, this colour will usually be a bit too dark. The colour will probably not fall as you expected. You can mix it with a lighter natural colour. And would you still like that nice mahogany brown colour in your hair? You can, but mix the colour 5.5 in equal parts with the brown (5.0) to make sure it doesn't turn too purple. You can also choose to mix with a lighter natural colour such as light brown (6.0) or dark blonde (7.0). Want to know more about the 5.5 and, for example, what ingredients it contains besides calendula and argan oil? You can read all about it on the product page of this hair dye. The names are very similar, yet these are two very different colours. In the purple hair dye, our mahogany brown (5.5), a mahogany colour has been added to the mid-brown. As mentioned, this makes it a cool colour. In our range, we have one other colour that contains mahogany, which is mahogany red dark brown (4.65). This is a warm colour, however, because in addition to mahogany, there are many more red pigments added. So, despite the names being almost the same, they are entirely different colours. Also, mahogany red dark brown is really a dark brown colour.
We have a Pinterest page of every colour in our range, so you can get a good idea of the possible colour nuances. View our Pinterest page of mahogany brown 5.5. Do you still have questions?
