Sensitive scalp, itching and hair dye

Do you suffer from sensitive scalp, eczema or psoriasis? If it itches and turns red easily when you dye your hair, you probably also suffer from a dry scalp. It's important to choose a product that is as gentle on your hair and scalp as possible. WECOLOUR hair dye is as gentle as possible on your hair and scalp, making it much less likely to itch. You can order an allergy test, which will quickly tell you whether you can dye your hair or not.

Prevent itching when dyeing your hair

You know you have a sensitive scalp and still want to dye your hair. We advise you to do an allergy test just to be sure. You put some colour cream and activator on the inside of your arm and you will soon see how you react to it. If it is bearable, you can dye your hair without any problems. If you get blisters and it becomes very red, you can no longer dye your hair. Do not wash your hair for at least three days if you suffer from a sensitive scalp. Your scalp is then protected by a layer that makes it less stressful for your skin. For the hair dye, it makes no difference whether it is applied to freshly washed hair or greasy hair, the effect is just as good. Add Colour Mask to the hair dye. This rich formula with calendula, aloe vera and pomegranate extract protects your scalp during dyeing. Do you often suffer from a red contour line after colouring? Then before you dye, put a little oily cream on your skin like Vaseline. This also provides extra protection. Be careful though! This cream should not get into the hair, because then the hair dye can no longer cover the hair properly.

Eczema and psoriasis in combination with hair colouring

We are often asked whether you can dye your hair if you suffer from eczema or psoriasis. The answer is yes, you can. However, you have to be extra careful. As with a sensitive scalp, if you suffer from eczema or psoriasis, it is always wise to do an allergy test first. If you don't get any reaction within 72 hours, you can dye your hair without any problems. Before dyeing, check that you do not have any open wounds on your scalp. If you do, wait for them to heal. Hair colour cream is mixed with activator, which causes a chemical reaction. Because WECOLOUR hair dye is as pure as possible, it is also suitable for people with a sensitive scalp, eczema and psoriasis. But always stay alert and careful. After all, your health is the most important thing.

Still itchy during hair dyeing?

Do you still notice that the hair dye itches? Make sure it remains bearable. A little itching can do no harm and it often stops within a few minutes. If it is really annoying itching or burning sensation, rinse the hair dye. It's better to prevent than to cure!

How can you help your sensitive, itchy scalp recover?

  • make sure you use sulphate-free shampoo, for example WECOLOUR shampoo or Dark Bamboo;
  • do not massage shampoo into your scalp;
  • rinse your hair with lukewarm water (so avoid the hot tap as much as possible) and make sure your scalp comes into contact with as little water as possible;
  • let your hair dry naturally more often, using the hair dryer as little as possible;
  • use a caring mask once a week;
  • use Argan Silk to condition your hair. This is also very nice for your skin.
