When we talk about warm hair colours, we mean colours to which a golden, copper, red, chocolate or chestnut nuance was added. Hair colours are often sorted into black, brown, red and blonde. But we can also sort them based on their tone: warm, cool and 'natural'. Natural hair colours are neutral colours, they're neither warm nor cool. They don't have any extra warm or cool pigment added to them.
The packaging of the hair dye always mentions a code. The first number is for the colour depth/level (like black 1.0 or medium blonde 8.0 for example) and the second for the colour nuance/tone, also the third number tells you about the tone.
With blonde hair colours, you could look at colour descriptions such as golden blonde, almond blonde and honey blonde (platinum, beige and sand blonde are cool blonde colour nuances). With brown hair colours, it's often names such as caramel, cinammon and hazelnut. These all will look great if you're a fall type!
You could also look at the numbers. So-called warm colours are generally colour nubers that have the following second number in the colour code:
When you are in WECOLOURs hair dye shop, you can filter on these nuances.
Some hair colours have a third number. This third number shows that another tone has been added to the colour in question. There's a hint or hue of another colour in that colour.
When picking a new hair colour, you'll be tempted to just pick the colour you like most. But not every colour will be flattering! Next to the right colour level (dark or light), it's important to pick the right nuance for you. The nuance is about if it's a warm or cool colour. Picking a colour that doesn't fit you can make you look really pale. You might look in the mirror and think 'something's off about my face', and it'll be because you picked the wrong colour nuance.
A warm hair colour will look awesome if you're a warm type: warm types are fall or spring types. Don't know what your type is yet? Find out by looking at the colour of your skin, eyes and hair. When looking at your skin, it's about the undertone of your skin, not how light or dark it is. Is the undertone warm, just like the colour of your eyes and hair? Then warm colours will look great on you. Read more about this in the blog "Which hair colour suits my skin?".
Is your desired tone not available in the right colour depth? You can still achieve a colour we don't already offer by mixing two other colours. If you have any questions on how to get that one certain colour you want, you can always contact us. Or maybe your question has already been answered in our blog 'shelf life, storing and mixing of WECOLOUR hair dye'.
Is your warm colour not (yet) listed? Let us know. We regularly expand our range with new warm hair colours.
